Reaction kinetics

Reaction kinetics is used to predict the rate and conversion of chemical reactions as function of time and temperature.


Data for kinetic analysis is commonoly based on DSC, TGA HFC or FTIR.



Reaction kinetics is important to understand the effect of temperature on a chemical reaction ,curing of thermoset and the degradation of a material. The reaction mechanism may be complicated and can be determined from kinetic data. For polymer materials in solid state the reaction mechanism is further complicated and influenced by crystallinity and idffusion limitations.
