Stability and lifetime testing refer to the change of an important functional property important for the function.


Life time predictions refer to the process to predict the service life of a material or a product from accelerated ageing tests. The life time of polymer materials is affected by processing conditions, environmental parameters and mechanical loads among others.


The functional lifetime may refer to the chemical lifetime but can also be limited by physical ageing, creep or interactions with surrounding media, e.g. water changing the properties with time.
